The guru-disciple relationship is essential to the Vajrayana Buddhism practiced in
Mongolia. While the Mongols have done their best to preserve their lineages in secret during the 70 years under Communist rule, much has been lost. Mongolian Buddhism will be greatly strengthened by teaching tours of lineage-holding lamas who can give the proper initiations and instructions for accomplishing the practices.

When His Holiness the Dalai Lama visited Mongolia in the summer of 2006, he conducted a public initiation that is usually only conferred privately for just a handful of select disciples. One reason he cited was the extraordinary devotion and faith demonstrated by Mongolian Buddhists, a quality that is essential for pure Vajrayana practice.
An integral part of the MBRP is to facilitate
tours of Mongolia by Nyingma masters.
In 2005, Jetsunma received and accepted a formal invitation from Khamar Monastery to visit and teach. Plans are being made for her to go to Mongolia in the near future. His Holiness Penor Rinpoche has advised her to go when all the indications and conducive circumstances have come together in the most auspicious way.
At this point the Mongols do not have the funds to sponsor such visits. Contributions to the MBRP general fund will be used to underwrite these important tours. Please consider making a secure online contribution here to bless Mongolia with the presence of Nyingma lineage upholders.
