 Update
The Power of One program was launched in May of 2004 with an
email message to the KPC email list and a page on the Tara.Org
web site.
Since then, Power of One members have signed up from Australia,
Canada, England, New Zealand, Singapore, and the USA. In the spirit
of Power of One, they are passing the word about Power of One
to their friends and family and new Power of One members are signing
up every week.
Donations
People who believe in the power of compassionate activity are
generous! From our modest start, several hundred dollars have
been raised, mostly in small donations of $1.00 to $20.00 and
one large donation of $108.00
The donations we have received so far have been used primarily
for KPC Of Sedona's new Amitabha Stupa which was consecrated at
the end of July, 2004. However, all of KPC's compassionate
outreach programs will begin to benefit as Power of One continues
to grow.
Feedback
When we introduced the Power of One, we got some interesting
comments back and thought you'd like to read our favorite...
[Power of One] appeals to my core value of peace. I also
think the programs mentioned appeal to a wide range of people
and therefore, have great potential for affecting positive change.
The name of the project, The Power of One, (one person, one
dollar, ....) also resonates with me. Finally, any group that
can keep a prayer vigil going for YEARS has my support.
