KPC has just become aware of a grave situation where a monk within the ordained community has been arrested and charged for counts of sexual abuse against a young male. KPC has zero tolerance of and takes seriously all allegations of sexual abuse.  As such, the Spiritual Director of KPC, Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo informed the accused he is no longer permitted to retain his status as a monk or member of the spiritual community. Further, he was instructed to turn himself into authorities.  We at KPC are heartbroken by these charges and any harm that may have been caused, especially to the victim and his family.  KPC supports all legal action undertaken by police authorities to investigate the situation.  However, given that criminal charges are pending, it would be inappropriate to make any comment regarding the specific charges.
