From the words of the Tibetan
Buddhist masters:
The Venerable Gyatrul Rinpoche
"When you build a stupa, you are building your own enlightenment."
Lama Zopa Rinpoche
"A stupa, rich in symbolism, filled with relics and consecrated
according to sacred texts, is such a powerful holy object that
even an unintentional circumambulation purifies negativities and
accumulates merit or virtue", explains Lama Zopa, recalling
how animals and insects that inadvertently circumambulated a stupa
created powerful causes for auspicious rebirths and eventual enlightenment.
"I think it would be very beneficial for
anyone with a disease that is difficult or incurable such as AIDS
or cancer to circumambulate a Stupa several hundred times a day.
This is my personal suggestion. Since depending on these Holy
objects purifies the cause of disease it has to have an effect
on the disease."
Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche
“The blessings of stupas are such that they benefit all
beings, regardless of their connection and motivation. If one
participates in a stupa’s construction and ritual activities,
or honors the completed stupa with an altruistic resolve to benefit
all beings, then the blessings are such that the Buddha himself
could not describe them.”
Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo
"When you build a stupa, you are giving rise to the body
of the Buddha as though you had given birth to it or given rise
to it within your own mind…the virtue of that is immeasurable".
