Teachings with Lopon Pem Tsheri Sherpa

The Way of the Bodhisattva by Shantideva

** Note: The Start date for Lopon Pem’s second series has been postponed from Sunday, Aug 20 to Sunday, August 27 because of scheduling conflicts.

Treasured by Buddhists of all traditions, The Way of the Bodhisattva by Shantideva is a guide to cultivating the mind of enlightenment and to generating the qualities of love, compassion, generosity, and patience.

Lopon Pem Tsheri Sherpa, from Palyul Namdroling Monastery in India, will offer the second series of teachings on this seminal text on Sundays at 11:00 am, beginning August 27, 2017. Lopon will use two texts for this series, the Padmakara Translation Group translations Shantideva’s The Way of the Bodhisattva and Kunzang Pelden’s Commentary, The Nectar of Manjushri’s Speech.

Bodhisattvas are those who are dedicated to the universal awakening, or enlightenment, of all beings. They exist as guides and providers of relief to suffering beings. On the bodhisattva path, we follow teachings about generosity, patience, ethical conduct, compassion, and insight into what is essential, so we can come to live in a way that benefits others.

This eight-week series is the second of a longer set of teachings that will span over a year to delve deeply into the text. Even if you missed the first series, you can join now.

This is a rare opportunity. It has the blessing of Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo, Spiritual Director of KPC, and Palyul Khenpo Tenzin Norgay.  Please don’t miss out!. Registration is open.
