About Ngondro:

Ngöndro—meaning “that which goes before”—is termed “preliminary,” yet lineage masters revere it as a complete path to absolute Enlightenment. This powerful system of purification and merit-building transforms the practitioner’s mind into a “fertile field” where the seeds of enlightenment flourish. By committing to complete the formal accumulations of prostrations, mandala offerings, and mantras, you step onto a definitive course that cuts through delusion, awakening the mind’s primordial nature to flawlessly liberate all sentient beings. Learn more about Ngöndro HERE

This retreat will provide teachings and training to familiarize new students with the Ngondro practices, so they can continue to practice at home, and offers a powerful collective container for seasoned students to clarify and stabilize their ongoing practice.

How to Participate:

Please note that this retreat will be held in person only at our Maryland temple so we may practice together as a unified body. Hard copies of the Ngöndro practice books will be available for purchase onsite at the Mani Jewel gift shop.

If you are unable to attend in person, we invite you to participate from afar by sponsoring the retreat or Tsog offerings. You may submit your prayer dedications and sponsorships online HERE. Please add a note specifying “Ngöndro Retreat” so we can properly route your offering.
